 Cemeteries

Council operates two cemeteries within the Shire:
  • Nanango Cemetery, which is located on the corner of Appin Street and Cairns Street, Nanango and
     
  • Blackbutt Cemetery, which is located on the D’Aguilar Highway at Blackbutt

The Nanango Visitor Information Centre located next to the Shire offices in Nanango may be able to help you with genealogical and historical information relating to cemetery records. You can contact them by phoning (07) 4171 6871 or via email

The rules surrounding the operation of cemeteries in Nanango Shire are outlined in Council's Local Law No. 7 - Cemeteries. You can obtain a copy of this in Adobe PDF format from our Local Laws and Policies page.

You can also consult Nanango Shire's cemetery records online through the Nanango Shire Cemeteries Databse which is linked into our web site.
